Backbase Engage Supplementary Privacy Notice

This supplementary privacy notice provides information on how Backbase collects and processes your personal data when you participate in our Backbase Engage 2021 event (the “Event”) by means of the Backbase Engage Event Portal (“the Event Portal”). It supplements the Backbase Privacy Policy which contains more detailed information about our data processing and can be accessed here.

What personal data do we collect?

Event Registration
When you register for the Event we collect the following personal data:

  • Your Name
  • Company Name
  • Job Title
  • Job Seniority
  • Department
  • Attendee Type [Backbase employee/ Customer/ Prospect/ Partner]
  • Country
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number

Event Participation

During the Event we record the session and/or make screenshots. This means that if you actively participate in a session, for example in a live Q and A, we may create a record of your interaction. This record will contain your image and the submission that you make to the live Q and A. The record will not be linked to your registration data. You may also appear in screenshots.

How do we use it and what is our processing ground?

We will use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To register you as an Event attendee.
  • To provide information before, during and after the Event relevant to your attendance by e-mail or telephone. For example, we may send you an e-mail recapping the Event.
  • Depending on your participation in the Event we may use your image and a record of your interaction in the event for internal business purposes and for external marketing purposes, for example for the purpose of reporting about the Event on our website. When we publish records and/or screenshots we will make sure to only publish a general records or screenshots that give an overall flavor of the event and do not particularly focus on your submission or image. That means that we strive to publish screenshots of groups of people rather than a single individual and publish a recording of a number of submissions rather than your individual submission.

Our associated processing grounds are our contractual obligation towards you as an attendee of the Event and our legitimate interest in reporting on the Event as part of our marketing communications.
